Jeanette (Jean) Esther McCrimmon, age 85, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on February 26, 2021. Jean was born September 4th, 1935, in R.M. Siglunes, Manitoba, to Wilbur Hamilton and Martha (Sidof) McCrimmon.
Jean and her family moved from Manitoba to British Columbia in 1970, settling in Port Coquitlam for several years, and moving to Abbotsford in 1976 where she remained until she passed away. She attended Abbotsford Baptist Church until her health made it difficult to attend services. She really missed her friends at the church, but kept in touch by phone or coffee dates.
Her life was a living example of faith through good times and difficulties. Jean is remembered for her sense of humor, her compassion, her cooking and baking, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. Jean loved gardening, growing daffodils, dahlias, phlox, hollyhocks, etc. creating a beautiful, peaceful garden. When she moved to an apartment, she continued to tend to flowers in hanging baskets.
Jean is survived by her sister Carolyn (Wayne) Davis, her daughter Darlene (Ronald) Short, Cynthia McCrimmon, Janet (Bill) Andres, Barry Wiens, 4 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 9 great grandsons, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by father Wilbur and mother Martha, her brothers Donald Roderick McCrimmon and Russell Henry McCrimmon, and her sister Anne (Sidof) Burkhart.
A celebration of life service will be held on April 6th, 2021, at 1 p.m. Due to Covid restrictions, the family have offered a ZOOM link for others to attend virtually. If you wish to attend via ZOOM, please contact the family for the link.
