

She was the oldest of 7 siblings. Predeceased by her brother Berend shortly after his birth in 1929, and her sister Matje at age 7 in 1933.
She is survived by her brother Klaas, sisters Jennie Dekker, Mary Aikema and Jackie DeVries.
In May 1951, the Vanderlinde family emigrated to Canada (Coaldale) and moved to B.C in December 1951, via Lulu Island and Langley they arrived in Abbotsford. They settled in Sumas Prairie on a dairy farm in March 1960.
She married Egbert Breukelman on March 16, 1962 and farmed alongside him till his passing on December 21, 1995. They had no children of their own, but were very involved with the lives of their 70 nephews and nieces and their families, in BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and in the Netherlands.
Since July 2020, she lived in Primrose Gardens independently, almost till the end of her life.
She worked hard as a farmer’s wife, loved gardening, travelling, bowling and playing Rummikub.
She supported her siblings’ families and helped out her parents and others in her church family, by cleaning houses and looking after those who could use an extra hand. She was well known to many and was interested in everyone’s life.
Jentje, also known as Jean, passed away peacefully at the age of 101 years on April 4, 2026 into the arms of her loving Saviour. She definitely leaves behind an empty place.
Jentje has a memorial service for Tuesday, April 14 starting at 1:00 PM.
