She was born in Avonlea, Saskatchewan, where she met and married Gordon. They then moved to Rosthern, Saskatchewan where they spent many happy years, raising four children and running Miller’s Funeral Home. Maggie was very involved in the community being a part of the I.O.D.E., the Lionelles, teaching 4-H and volunteering at the local hospital. She also taught Sunday School. Madeline was a wonderful seamstress, and after the family moved to Abbotsford, worked at Fannie’s Fabrics for years. She loved working with her hands, creating beautiful craft work as well as being a wonderful baker and cook.
Maddie will be sorely missed by her children, Peggy (Patrick) Ashton, Glenn (Shobna) Miller, Bruce (Amanda) Miller and Patty (Jim) Hignell. She will also be missed by her sisters, Judy and Betty, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, Susan Laird, and many friends and relatives.
A memorial will be held when possible, and the family requests a donation to the Tabor Home Society in Abbotsford or the Mission Association for Senior Housing Society be made in lieu of flowers.
