Martin Schroeder (March 14,1917 - July 20, 2011) was predeceased by his first wife, Bertha Viola Schroeder (May 5, 1972), his eldest daughter, Darlene Sylvia Wiens (July 10, 2006) and is survived by his second wife, Lydia Peters.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters Alice and Karen, as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepchildren.
As a teacher, he began in a one room school, teaching grades I - XII. He worked his way up to his dream of being a Superintendent of Schools in Saskatchewan and then joined the Faculty of Education at UBC.
He loved singing and was involved in many choirs, notably the Gospel Tidings Radio Choir in Saskatoon and the Men of Praise and Jubilee choirs in Abbotsford.
He was a member of Gideons International and was responsible for the distribution of New Testaments in elementary schools.
