Richard Wnuk, age 75, passed away on the 7th of January from a severe head injury following a fall from a ladder.
Richard was born in 1947 in Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1961 with his parents and four siblings. The family, including a fifth sibling born in Canada, made their home in Abbotsford in 1962. Richard never spoke of another place he’d rather be.
Richard is survived by his three children Justin, Jessica and Brandon. He will be further missed by his two grandchildren Henry and William.
Richard had a passion for life; it was impossible for him to sit when dance music was being played. Remarks on his resemblance to Elvis always brought a smile to his face and a blush to his cheeks. He was a master at his trade and was never satisfied with anything but his best work. “Good enough” was not part of his vocabulary. His colleagues at the school district were like family to him.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A prayer service for Richard will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM at St Ann's Catholic Parish, 33333 Mayfair Avenue, Abbotsford, BC V2S 3H7. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 33333 Mayfair Avenue, Abbotsford, BC V2S 3H7.
