She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years. Larry and two sons, Tim and Wally, along with six grandchildren, Megan, Sarah, Ryan, Jackson, Myles and Sam. She also leaves one sister, Sheryl Simzer (Terry) of Whitby, Ontario.
Vicki and family moved to Abbotsford in 1985, after selling their farm in Ontario. It was here that she went back to school to further her passion for flowers and plants and became a horticulturist. She worked for many years at a local nursery.
Vicki enjoyed her annual fishing trips with Larry. Hooking up the camper and boat and going to Cougar Creek on Vancouver Island. Of course, she always caught the biggest fish and showed up every angler in camp. True story!
Vicki a breast cancer survivor, had her quality of life cut short seven years ago when she was diagnosed with a rare form of palsy, that slowly continued to rob her of all the people and things she loved in life.
Vicki will be sadly missed, not only by her immediate family, but by all her many other relatives and friends whose lives she touched.
Vicki’s remains will be cremated, with interment to follow in a private family service.
Many thanks to Dr. J. Chan and the staff on the West Wing at the Menno Home, for the care they provided Vicki over the three plus years she resided there.
The family request any donations be sent to your local Cancer Society, in lieu of flowers.
