Raised in Welby Saskatchewan, while visiting Elkhorn Manitoba, she met Gordon Rowan on a one week leave from the Royal Canadian Air Force. This meeting blossomed into their marriage which led to a happy and successful life on a farm near Kirkella, Manitoba. Ultimately, their retirement choice was Abbotsford, BC where they enjoyed everything it had to offer, until Dad died.
Predeceased by her husband Gordon and the sudden death of her son Lorne (Angela), Mom devoted her life to her daughter Carol (Bernard), her grandchildren Heather, Stuart (Bailey) and recently, her great grandson Tanner.
Mom was a special woman. She was an extraordinary homemaker known for her chocolate cake. She especially enjoyed driving to and cheering for her grandchildren at hockey games and any activities they were involved in. She continued to support the Royal Canadian Legion. She loved animals of every kind while favoring cats needing her care.
Mom was an example of the value of Christianity showing an eagerness to attend services of any denomination. Her kindness was not bound by limits but by her own intuition and common sense.
The Rowan family says Thank You with the deepest appreciation to Tabor Home and to every one and all for the professional care, the kindness and the compassion given to our Mother.
Donations by choice. Thank you.
