Bobbye "Jerry" Mashburn

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph A. Bushnell officiating. Interment will follow in Stith Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4:00 PM also at the funeral home.

Jerry was born on April 15, 1934, in McGregor, Texas to the late Thurman Allison and Gladys (Cox) Allison. She grew up in a large family and shared a special bond with her siblings throughout life. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1952. She married Arlan L. Harris in 1955 and together they had three children. Jerry nurtured her family for many years as a single parent and was protective of her children. She later married Donald W. Mashburn on July 9, 1971, in Abilene.

Jerry worked for 28 years for what is now known as United Supermarkets. In the past she had been a member of the Bluebonnet Club and Tye Baptist Church. She loved creating special memories with her close-knit family. She was a godly woman and always showed love to those she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald W. Mashburn; daughter, Pam L. Dobbs; step daughter, Pam Byers; four brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Steve L. Harris and his wife, Brenda of Alexander, AR and Joel A. Harris and his wife, Patti of Tye; her cherished sister, Mary Capps; 4 stepchildren, Debbie Childers, Chris Mashburn, Billy Nichols and Kim McPherson; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
