

Funeral services celebrating his life and legacy will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 US Highway 277 S. in Abilene. He will be laid to rest in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories following the service. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5-7:00 PM with a Rosary and time of sharing memories to begin at 7:00 PM also in the funeral home chapel.
Daniel was born in Fort Stockton, Texas on June 20, 1975. He was the second born of four sons to Jorge Luis Gonzalez, Sr. and Yolanda (Martinez) Gonzalez. He moved to Abilene at a young age where he attended local schools. Growing up Daniel and his brothers enjoyed the usual mischievousness of kids creating special memories. He began his working career in the concrete industry under the tutelage of his father. He initially worked for Transit Mix and went on to work for Ingram. He was currently employed with Strong Ready Mix where he was plant manager. It was more than a job for Daniel he was extremely proud of his career and his colleagues. He felt a sense of pride and responsibilities for those he worked for and with.
Daniel was a faithful Cowboy’s fan. He supported them through all seasons. Everyone who knew him was aware of who his team was. He enjoyed making football squares. He married the love of his life Gabriela in 2012. Together they merged two families into one. Daniel was a devoted family man he loved creating memories with his family. While he was born in June his birthday should have been July 4th, for his love of the festive traditions of that day. He was at his happiest when having a good time surrounded by family and friends. His home was a gathering place where many memories were created. He leaves legacy of love and being a loyal supporter to those he cared about. He thanked God daily for his friends and family for he understood it was him who brought them all together. He faced each challenge in life, with wisdom, determination and love.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesus and Francisca Martinez and Luis Gonzalez and Fortunata Esparza; sister-in-law, Christina Castro.
He leaves to cherish precious memories, his parents, Jorge and Yolanda Gonzalez; his wife, Gabby Gonzalez; his children, Marc Justin Ramon, Jr., Daniel Martinez Gonzalez, Jr. (Aracellie Carrillo), Daniella Yvonne Gonzalez, Miguel Angel Gonzalez(Alaysha Thompson), Alheli Montoya (Carolina Montoya) and Juan Carlos Montoya; grandchildren, Aaliyah Jade and Aliva Ramona Gonzalez and Janie Marie Wylie; his brothers, Jorge Gonzalez, Jr., Omar Gonzalez(Natalie Rocha) and Ruben Alejandro Gonzalez; two sisters/cousins, Maritza Martinez and Arcelia Morales; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
