Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Texas Veteran’s Cemetery under the direction of Elliott Hamil Funeral Home.
Daniel was born on October 27, 1943 in Rotan, Texas to Isaias and Petra (Lopez) Rodriguez. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1965, with his last two years being at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene. He then served in the United States Army Reserves in California.
He continued his service to others, doing so as a Police Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, where he gladly served and protected the community for 20 years. In his spare time, he loved deep-sea fishing. He loved life as a whole, and was funny, knowing many jokes that kept everyone laughing. In his later years, he did some prospecting in Mexico.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Debbie (Rodriguez) Sebastian, Daniel Rodriguez, Jr., Dolores (Rodriguez) McCallion, and David Rodriguez; brother, Isaias Rodriguez; sisters, Lydia (Rodriguez) Yanez, and Rachel (Rodriguez) Martinez; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren with another on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
