
David Lynn Wiley, 52, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011. A memorial service that will be held at First Baptist Church Merkel on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2:00pm. The family will have a visitation from 1:00 to 2:00pm (prior to the service) at the church.
David was born September 30, 1958 in Ft. Worth to Gaylon and Betty Wiley. He graduated high school from Houston in 1976 and went to college at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX. After graduating college in 1981; he went to work in the oil field. He worked in the oil field for six years, and then went to work for West Texas Utilities, where he worked for 16 years. He was a former member of The Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce in Merkel. He was a member of First Baptist Church Merkel, and coached Little League for six years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Krystal Wiley of Abilene, TX and Kerrie Wiley of Temple, TX; one son, Kelby Wiley of Merkel, TX; three grandchildren, Bailee Wiley of Stamford, TX, Kailee Sluder of Abilene, TX, and Kaleb Wiley of Merkel, TX; his parents, Rev. Gaylon and Betty Wiley of Lebanon, TN; two sisters, Lecia Majewski and husband James of League City, TX and Kayla Wiley of Lebanon, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
