Edith Ione Armstrong

Edith Ione Armstrong, 95, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at a local nursing center. Graveside services will be 2:00p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012, in Pioneer Cemetery, Graham, TX, under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St., Abilene, TX.

Edith was born June 2, 1917 to the late Carl and Sarah Anna Carpenter Aston in Greenville, TX. She attended in schools in Graham Point and married Bush Earl Armstrong on January 12, 1936 in Royse City, TX. They moved to Abilene from Graham in 1956 and Edith was a loving wife and homemaker.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; daughters, Bobbie Earline Armstrong and Barbara Sue Edwards; sisters, Wynona Ford and Elsie Cochran; brothers, Truett and Travis Aston; and a grandson, Terry Milam.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Armstrong Knorr of Abilene; brother, Bennie Aston of Waco; three grandchildren, Ronny Milam of Atlanta, GA, George Edwards of Comfort, TX, and Scott Edwards of San Diego, CA; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
