Edna Mae Johnson

Edna Mae Johnson, nee Miller, born May 31, 1926 passed away on July 4, 2014 after a battle with cancer and subsequent surgical complications. A native of Abilene, she was a dedicated homemaker, beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She recently resided in both Rockwall and Round Rock, Texas to live closer to family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Le Ora Miller of Abilene; her husband, Lawrence Johnson; her son, Larry Johnson, Jr.; her son-in-law, Bob Ahlstrand; her daughter, Marsha Flannery Reiling; and her granddaughters, Heller Ahlstrand James and Megan Flannery.

She is survived by her daughter, LaDonna Ahlstrand; her daughter-in-law, Sally Johnson; her sisters, Norma Baker and Jean Box; her grandchildren, LaDenna and Jim Kuhlmann, Steven and Jennifer James, Christine and Larry Johnson, III, Camille and John Penniman, and Erin Flannery. She is also survived by her great- grandchildren, Michelle and Robert Ward, LaDayna and Warwick Eagle, Laurel Ahlstrand, Max and Stella Johnson, Sasha and Owen James, Parker, Finley, Quinn Penniman, and Merrick Flannery; as well as her great-great-grandchildren, Danny Burnett, Evy Ahlstrand, and Ethan and Lucas Ward.

In lieu of flowers you may donate to the Help Hope Live fund for her grandson-in-law, Jim Kuhlmann. He was injured in a catastrophic accident in 2013 and is now a quadriplegic. Graveside services will be held at 11:00a.m., today, Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St., Abilene.
