Liz was born on September 24, 1951, to the late Raul and Julia (Carranza) Serbin in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska. She grew up in the country in a small community in Noodle TX where she created many special memories with her siblings. She attended school at Noodle and graduated in 1971. Her family had moved around to several locations throughout her life before settling into Abilene TX. Liz was always a hard worker and dedicated employee. She worked initially for General Electric and then began a long and productive career with First National Bank which is now known as First Financial Bank in Abilene TX. She retired after 32 years from the bank’s Trust Department. But her most important job role that she cherished was being a single loving mother to her only child Michael Martinez.
Liz loved God, her family, and others. She was loyal and dedicated to those she loved and cared for, and output others before herself. She was naturally creative and enjoyed drawing. She especially enjoyed the art of gift giving and finding creative ways to be thoughtful and purposeful in making others feel special. She enjoyed bowling and was part of a bowling team for many years.
She attended Wylie Church of Christ and maintained a special relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Survived by son, Michael Martinez and his wife Kristin; grandchildren Dakota, Skye, and Ryelan; Brothers Robert Serbin, Albert Serbin and belated wife Stella; Raul Serbin and his wife Amanda; Beloved sister Sylvia Stevens and husband Gary; and several loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and even blessed to have some great, great nieces and nephews.
