Ellen Marie Simons

Ellen Marie Simons, 71, of Abilene, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016. Services will be at 1 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South with burial following at Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Weinert, Texas. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Saturday evening, March 19, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.

She was born in Abilene, Texas on January 8, 1945 to C.W. "Boots" and Willie Mae Collins. She spent most of her life as a cosmetologist. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, painting and watching murder mysteries. She also loved spending time with her grandkids. Ellen was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death her parents; brother, Charles Collins; sisters, Jane Melon and Mary Hargrove; nephews, Bobby and Wesley Collins; and Jamie Dougharty. Ellen is survived by her husband, Edwin; sons, Jeff Lambert and fiancé Alexia Acosta and Jimmy Lambert all of Abilene; brother, Bob Collins and wife, Sylvia of Eula; sister in law Pat Collins of Woodson, TX; and nine grandchildren, Crystal Lambert and fiancé, A.J. Elder, Jimmy Lambert, Jr., Dillon Lambert, Cheyenna Lambert, Jayton Lambert, Maddie Lambert, Reba Foxworth, Jacy Dougharty and Katlin Shawyer; and two great-grandchildren, Loretta Lambert and Lyla Lambert.
