

A service commemorating his life will occur Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Fountaingate Fellowship Church, 909 N. Willis Street, Abilene, TX 79603. Interment will follow at Abilene Municipal Cemetery. A viewing and time of sharing of remembrance will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-9:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home on 277 S.
Eric was born a twin on August 12, 1981 in Abilene to Elias Gonzalez Tonche and Gloria Estrada. He was born and raised on the Northside of Abilene, TX. Growing up he kept active playing baseball and soccer. He went on to graduate from Abilene High School in 2000. He became a dad and had his first child Katlyn. He married Victoria J. Garcia and together they had three children. Later in life, he met Claudia Lopez and together they began a journey together living in Lubbock for 2 years. Then returned back to Abilene He worked for several different companies to include Llano, Cowtown Materials and eventually became an independent contractor working alongside his family.
Quat enjoyed being with his family and creating memories. He was always up for trying new things especially restaurants. He especially loved children. He also had a passion for Bully XL dogs; he loved his three; Baby Quat, Leya, and Chief. Quat enjoyed collecting baseball cards, dancing and anything Texas Tech and Dallas Cowboys. He had a big heart and could always be counted on to be there for those he loved. If you asked him for help he never hesitated. He was always giving donations to causes he came across. He will be missed by all those who had the privilege to be a part of his life.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Silbestre B. Tonche; his maternal grandparents, Antonio and Mary Estrada; his uncle, Silvester G. Tonche.
He leaves, to cherish precious memories, his children: Katlyn Navarrete, Eric Tonche, Jr., Erika Tonche, Sagnie Tonche; the love of his life, Claudia Lopez and her children, Gabby, Jesse, Nayelli, Beatrice, and Mike. He is also survived by his parents, Elias Tonche and Gloria Estrada; his stepmother, Petra Soliz; his siblings, Vanessa Tonche, Elias Tonche, Jr., Jovita Tonche, Jaqueline Tonche, and Lorisa Salazar; numerous loving nieces and nephews and a host of loyal friends who were more like family.
