

Gary Bylander left this life Saturday, June 1, 2019, at the age of 78. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, 5801 Hwy 277 South in Abilene.
Gary was born July 24, 1940 in Hudson, Wisconsin, to Arvid C. and Emily L. Williams Bylander. He moved to Abilene in 1956, where he worked as an engineer and welder and was employed by Abilene Ice Company for a time. He also was employed by West Texas Coffee and Equipment for many years. Gary started his own successful business, Bylander’s Restaurant Repair Service and Refrigeration in the 70’s.
Gary was a 32nd Degree Mason. He enjoyed riding his scooter in parades dressed as a clown, and making balloons for children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, C.T., Lionel, Juvene, Lowell and Duvonne; and two sisters, Lotus Dittman and Twila Allums, and grandson, Eddie Salas.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Bylander; children Donnora and Silas “Cas” Caswell of Hudson, WI; Roxie and David Munoz of Fort Worth; Jovon and Jack Guzman of Abilene; Gary James and Juanita Bylander of Del Rio; Bobbie L. Bylander of Del Rio; Deena C. and Jose Loza of Del Rio; Sandy and Jeremy Rotge of Junction; Diana and Homer Castaneda of Abilene; Randall Elliott of Abilene; Stephane Bleeker of Abilene; and Timothy and LaTasha Huffman of Abilene. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and one sister, SannLo Pribble of Barron, WI.
Gary was a kind man that loved to joke. He was a saved believer of Jesus.
