Gordon Long

Gordon Long, 53, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012, at a local nursing center in Abilene. A memorial service will be held at 1:30p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 in the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory St. with Pastor Clyde Kieschnick officiating under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.

Gordon was born on February 3, 1959 to Robert B. Long and Bobbie Jean Stewart in Ardmore, OK. He was an ornamental iron metal worker by trade and loved the outdoors. Gordon loved to go camping and fishing in New Mexico and Colorado. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Bobbie Jean Long.

Survivors include his father, Robert Long of Abilene; his son, Keith Long of Alvin, TX; his brother, Stuart W. Long; a granddaughter, Shayla Long; six nieces, and two nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to donors favorite charity.
