

Pauline Witt Dunn, 90, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2015. Pauline was born on April 9, 1925, Abilene, Texas to the late Paul Chandler Witt and Willie Lee (Pritchett) Witt. She graduated from Abilene Christian High School in 1941 and from Abilene Christian College in 1944 with a B.A. in music (violin and piano). Pauline married Floyd Warren Dunn on October 27, 1944 in Abilene and they were married for 69 years. She taught private violin and piano lessons since 1944 and taught part-time at ACU Music department from 1968 to 1990. She played in the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra since 1950 and the Memphis Symphony in Memphis, Tennessee from 1960-1965.
Pauline traveled to Bangkok, Thailand from 1959 to 1960 and later to Chiangmai, Thailand from 1965 to 1968 with her husband and family. Floyd Dunn taught at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok and at Chiangmai University in Chiangmai. After her retirement in 1988, she and Floyd made numerous trips back to Bangkok and Chiangmai, Thailand where he helped graduate students at Chiangmai University. Their last trip to Thailand was in 2007, after which poor mobility kept her at home. Pauline and Floyd truly treasured their many friendships and memories of the kind people in Thailand.
Survivors include her three children, Shirley Ilene Dunn and her daughter and son-in-law (Kyle and Amanda Trafton) and one great-granddaughter, Nora Rose; James and DiAnne Dunn and their sons, James Wittley Dunn and Daniel Worley Dunn, and Nina (Dunn) Dikin and her husband, Lance. Other survivors include a sister, Nancy Witt and a niece Paula Hall; as well as many nieces and nephews on her husband’s side of the family. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd; and a sister, Dorothy Witt Goodman.
