

Jacqueline Simpson, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, January 6, 2012 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel, TX with Rev. Mike Woodard officiating under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd St. Viewing will be Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the funeral home.
Jacqueline was born on December 7, 1922 in Desdemona, TX to Joe Reid and Meta Virginia Haynes. She married John Howard on January 7, 1940 in Albany, TX.
Jacqueline liked to paint and do crafts. She worked for Sam's Wholesale Club as a demo lady and in the cafeteria at Wylie Elementary. Jacqueline was also a hair dresser and worked for Hendrick Central Supply.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, J.H. Simpson; her son-in-law, Bill Waddall; and a grandson, Michael French.
Survivors include two daughters; Frankie M. Waddall of Abilene and Barbara C. Shelton and husband, Doyle of Abilene; a brother, C.L. Reid of Hawley; a sister, Ila Dean Devaney of Arizona; three grandchildren, Dana McCoy and husband Jerry, Melinda Alqarqaz, Farrah McCoy and husband Kenneth; great-grandchildren, Dillon, Hunter, Shayla, Shelby and Kelly McCoy, Alex Alqarqaz, Harrison and Kayleigh McCoy, Dalton French and Tammy Lee French; and great-great-grandchild, Hailey Hutcherson.
The family wishes to give thanks and appreciation to Sears Hospice, Encompass Home Health and Meals on Wheels.
