

Jan Greenhaw, 75, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2015 in Abilene. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Elm Cemetery in Eastland County. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St., Abilene.
Jan was born on August 18, 1939 to Fred and Ella Burns. She married Don Greenhaw on September 27, 1957. They resided in the Denton Valley Community for 35 years.
She was employed by Abilene State Supported Living Center for 17 years. When she retired, she continued to volunteer at the State Supported Living Center's Second Edition Store where she put in 1300 plus hours. She was a member of Highway 36 Church of Christ, serving as a very loving infant Sunday School teacher for many years. Jan enjoyed quilting, gardening,volunteering for Meals on Wheels in Clyde, and most importantly being Mema. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, a brother, Elton Burns, and a sister, Velda Jean Walker.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jennifer O'Dell and husband, Lee, of Tuscola, and Nancy Holden and husband, Randy, of Abilene; a sister, Delores Schaeffer; two grandsons, Justin O'Dell and wife, Ashley, and Jayden O'Dell; step-grandchildren, Derrick, Brittney, and Lynndsy Holden; step-great-granddaughters, Sophia, Violet, and Lilly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude over the past year and a half but especially over the last six weeks. Jan was blessed with many people that loved and cared for her.
