

Jessie “Munos” Rodriguez, 87, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at a local medical center in Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 10:00a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014 at St. Vincent Catholic Church with Father Terry Brenon officiating. Burial will follow in the Abilene City Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St. Rosary will begin at 6:30p.m., Sunday evening with a prayer service starting at 7:00p.m. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, David Rodriguez, Ray Albarado, Jr., Robert Albarado, Daniel Rodriguez, Martin Rodriguez, and Steven Rodriguez.
Jessie was born on January 22, 1927 to Jesus and Josefina Villalobos Munos in Abilene, TX. She was a homemaker and she loved to cook for her family. Jessie also enjoyed gardening, window shopping, and especially babysitting her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Joe N. Rodriguez; her parents; a son, Robert Rodriguez; a brother, Pete Munos; a sister, Josephine Rosales; a granddaughter, Yvonne Rodriguez; a great-grandson, Timothy Rodriguez; and a daughter-in-law, Rose Mary Jasso Rodriguez.
Survivors include her sons, Joe Rodriguez and wife, Rufina, Carlos Rodriguez and wife, Lydia, Augustine Rodriguez, and Ray Rodriguez all of Abilene; her daughter, Rosemary Albarado and husband, Ray of Abilene; two brothers, Santos Munos of Temple, and Richard Munos of Odessa; her sister, Esther Borrego of Arlington; twenty grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
