Jessie (Shorty/Skeeter) Leon King passed away on March 18, 2016 at the age of 80. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 6pm to 8pm at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South. Funeral Services will be 2pm Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith with burial following at Elmwood Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Kevin Bradshaw, Button West, Mick Hammond, Lyle White, Mike Roberts and Jerry Black.
Jessie was born August 8, 1935 in San Angelo, Texas to the late Jessie and Ernest King. He worked for Sojourner Drilling moving drilling rigs, then he worked for Abilene New Holland hauling equipment until his retirement. He worked at Corley Wetsel for about a year.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and four sisters. He leaves behind his wife, Deborah King; daughter, Janna Hargett and husband Erik; son, Jeff King and wife Sue Lynn; two stepsons, Michael Johnson and Daniel Walton; brother, Franklin King; sisters, Esta Young, Pat Chandler and Debbie Loflin; six grandkids; four great grandkids and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Texas Oncology for their tremendous care and support.
