

John “J.D.” Beebe, Jr., 69, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at his home in Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2013 at Caps United Methodist Church, 6501 Hwy 277 South, with Pastor Tim Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd St. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Parks, Jesse Bailes, Corey Lyles, Jackie Fields, Shawn Franklin, and R.J. Millikin. Visitation will be Sunday, August 25, 2013 from 2 to 4p.m. at the funeral home.
John was born September 28, 1943 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of John and Ollie Beebe, Sr. He worked at Manna Pro Feed Mill in Kansas City for over 20 years. He loved to sing and play the guitar as well as woodworking. John was a member of Caps United Methodist Church.
John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roy and David; two sons, John D. Beebe, III and Johnny Dale Beebe; and a grandson, Robert Thomas.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Beebe of Abilene; eight sons and their wives, James Beebe of Terra Haute, IN, Jason Beebe of Kansas City, KS, Gary Thomas and Kathy of Abilene, John Thomas and Julia of Bellaire, FL, Billy Thomas and Scottie Thomas, both of Kansas City, KS, Brian Parks and Ashley of Abilene, and Jesse Bailes of Abilene; two daughters, Linda Thomas of Abilene and Brenda Thomas of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Sonny Beebe and Jerry Beebe, both of Kansas City, KS; two sisters, Barbara Cone and Harvey, and Bonnie Beebe, both of Kansas City, KS; grandchildren, Courtney, Alisha, Ellis, Heather, Colby, Kaitlyn, Michael, Gabby, Billy, Jonah and son, Devin, Damion, Johnny, Scottie, Anthony, Jessika, Jeremy, Jaymes and Jacob; and ten great-grandchildren.
