John, we all missed you at the WO'70 Reunion in Arizona last April.  OMG  we all missed you.  Remember the months we spent on Transmitter Hill?  Your slide down the face of Transmitter Hill?  
Then there was our CPO Engle.   I hope Jeanette and your kids got to see the video  of you sliding down the hill.

Sorry for your loss, John helped me out after Joe passed away, and for that I will forever be grateful . May The Lord be with the family during this sorrowful time.

John was a good friend and colleague of mine. Several times he filled in for me at Bowser Community Church in San Saba County.  May you find God's grace and peace in this time of loss. 


John served on the Juliette Fowler Communities Board as a Past Board Member and Chaired The Juliette Fowler Foundation Board.  He was a kind and remarkable man and the news of his passing has impacted our community. He will be deeply missed.

John was an inspiration to me as a servant leader for Juliette Fowler Communities.  I learned a lot from him, appreciated his kind words, and the smiles and laughter he brought out in us all.  I will miss John very much.

We have known John for a number of years. You will never find a more caring or more compassionate man. He was always willing to do anything for his fellow man. He will be greatly missed. 

My mom Mary Carr worked at first Financial with John in Sweetwater. I will never forget when I met him. John found out my daughter had asthma and couldn’t go see Santa. Santa aka John Pennington came to our house with a small gift so that Cindy could tell Santa what she wanted for Christmas. No one asked John to do this but John was willing to give to make a small child extremely happy.  I share in your sadness as the world lost  an extraordinary , loving and caring man . I called John a friend! He will be missed.  So very sorry for your loss!

Lisa and I knew John when he lived and worked in Sweetwater. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Being an OAE like John my husband had great memories on the ice and formed a great friendship.      The memories continued thru our Winter Over 1970 reunions.    John always had a smile on his face and was so much fun.     At this time the wives were introduced and my husband and I met Jeanette.     We loved them both.  
This breaks our hearts but we have so many memories to take to the next reunion.    He went home too soon and will leave a hole in our group.

Jeanette & family-I'm so sorry to hear of John's passing.  Please accept my heartfelt condolences.  I remember John from the tennis matches when our daughters were playing high school tennis.  He was such a good Dad!  I know you all will miss him terribly.

I've known the Penningtons since I was old enough to recognize someone they were my grandmother n father neighbors.  John was such a good dad always involved in his kids lives built them a cool fort and everything. My brother loved Allen n Andrew's Dad. I will keep yall in my prayers.

Have known John & Jeanette for over 40 years, since they first moved to Sweetwater. In all that time John has walked the talk as a brother in Christ, loving others and living life as a true disciple.
What a celebration in Heaven for this good & faithful servant.

John was a great friend on the Abilene Zoo board and added much to all that went on there.  He showed up to help me once when most had left after an event I was working on and I will always fondly appreciate his willingness to be of use.  He will be greatly missed!
