

John William Wall, Sr., 75, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011, at Hendrick Medical Center from complications due to Parkinson's disease. Funeral services will be 11:00a.m., Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3325 N. 12th St., Abilene TX 79603. Burial will be at 1:00p.m. in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Visitation will be Thursday evening, September 29, 2011 from 6:30p.m. - 8:30p.m. at the funeral home.
John was born August 24, 1936 in Eden (Spray) North Carolina to the late Benjamin Franklin and Pauline Elizabeth Clifton Wall.
He served in the Air Force from July 1955 to 30 June 1980. When the call came, he volunteered to serve his country in the Vietnam War. John worked in the oil field for a short time then he returned to his beloved Air Force, as a civil servant working in the same office at Dyess Air Force Base. He retired again in January of 2007.
John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was loved and admired by fellow saints. John was a good man that loved life and served his fellow men.
Preceding him in death are his parents and his favorite cousins, Hilda and J.R. Wilson.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Brincefield Wall of Abilene; his daughter Nora Lynne Rebich and husband Ron of Phoenix, AZ; his sons, John William Wall, Jr. and wife Sharon of Temple, TX and Karl Franklin Wall of Tremonton, Utah; his siblings, Sam and Jackie Wall of Eden, N.C., Donald and Lena Wall of Statesville, N.C., and Janice Robinson of Eden, N.C.; his grandchildren, Sarah and Ramon Ruiz, Marcus and Nicole Wall, Jade Smith, Stone Wall, Skye Wall, Jackson Wall, and Victoria Wall; his great-grandchildren, Caleb, Trevan, Olivia, and Tanner. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of his life.
