Linda Gail Stevens, 64, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 in Abilene. Funeral services will be 2:30p.m., Friday, April 8, 2016 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South with burial following in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening, April 7, 2016 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
Linda was born in Merkel, Texas on July 2, 1951 to Clarence W. Johnson and Wilma E. McHaney Johnson. She was a lifelong resident of Abilene and married Kenneth Stevens on March 7, 1969. Linda worked for the Abilene Independent School District in the cafeteria for 15 years. Her hobbies included crocheting and going fishing. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Linda is preceded in death by her father, Clarence Johnson. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Stevens of Abilene; her mother, Wilma Johnson also of Abilene; two sons, Kenneth Wayne Stevens of Abilene, and Kerry Ray Stevens and wife, Angie Minjarez of Odessa; two sisters, Darla Ann Sanders and husband, Greg of Abilene, and Pamela Jean Lindsey and husband, David of Merkel; and six grandchildren.
