The family of Mae (Maevolene) DuBose is sorely missing her, though they know she is happy and well among her loved ones and Her Lord as she receives her sweet reward in Heaven. Mae left this world on January 15, 2012. Born on May 2, 1924 in Abilene, Mae grew up here and made it her home all her life, and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Abilene.
In her early years she worked for "Southwestern Bell Telephone Company", as it was called then. Later she acquired her broker's license, working in real estate for a decade. She retired from real estate to work for what was then Humana Hospital and retired a second time to personal property management, which kept her busy literally until the day she looked Heavenward.
Mae leaves behind two daughters, Linda Brasher and Donna Neal; a son-in-law, Steve Brasher; a granddaughter, Sommer Slosson; two grandsons, Cody Brasher and Dustin Neal; a nephew, Chris Bridges; and two great-grandchildren, Zane Slosson and Trinity Symington.
Graveside services will be held at Abilene Municipal Cemetery, N. 10th and Cottonwood, on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 10:30a.m., under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St.
Mom, Mimi, Mae, Maevolene… we love you always.
