Margaret Louise Parris

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012, in Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Highway 277 South, with Pastor Don Woods officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2012, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, Texas.

Louise was born October 29, 1927 in Goree, Texas to Clarence Dudley and Martha Peek Dudley. She lived most of her adult life in Abilene, Texas. Louise married Joe Parris on June 21, 1947 in Abilene, Texas. She worked for Watson Pharmacy for 10 years before retiring in 1992. Louise was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and was an avid reader and an outstanding seamstress. Her favorite times were spent being Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Floyd and Addie Parris; sister, Rosa Lee Cheek; brother-in-law, Howard Cheek; nieces, Linda Cheek and Margaret Ann Cheek; brother-in-law, Homer Parris; and son-in-law, Gary Schoolcraft.

She is survived by her husband, Joe of Abilene; one son, Rickey Parris and wife, Pug, of Abilene; daughters, Janice Schoolcraft of San Antonio and Carolyn Wallace and husband, Danny, of Abilene; grandchildren, Tammy Schoolcraft, Bobby Schoolcraft, and Kimberly Cain, all of San Antonio, Collette Parrotte and husband, Bob, of Washington, David Raughton and wife, Tamara, and Derri Craft and husband, Nick, all of Abilene, Jeremy Wallace and wife, Sheila, of Hemphill, Texas, and Brad Parris of Abilene; great-grandchildren, Celina Cain, Aaron and Kelsey Parrotte, Christopher Craft, Bronson Schoolcraft, Braxton and Brody Parris and Brailey Wallace; sister-in-law, Jeanette Parris; and nephew, Gary Cheek.
