Maria Angela Davidson

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, with Pastor Chris Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Dan Birdsong, Joshua Holden, Michael Malloy, Rick Grimes, John Strople, and Robert Olvera. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Maria was born April 8, 1932 to Filimino and Mary Olvera in Mission, Texas. She married Loys Edward Davidson on June 8, 1962. Maria worked as a caregiver at West Texas Med Center and Home Healthcare. She retired in 1980 to take care of her granddaughters, Jenny, Jill, and Jaime fulltime.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Landon Edward Davidson; and her brother, Arturo Olvera.

Survivors include her son, John Lewis Davidson of Abilene; sisters, Emma Love of Longmont, Colorado, Lupe Barrera of Houston, Texas, Minnie Gonzales of Houston, Texas, and Betty Alvarez of Abilene; a very special sister-in-law, Beatrice Olvera of Abilene; grandchildren, Jenny Malloy and husband, Michael, of Clovis, New Mexico, Jill Holden and husband, Joshua, of Lubbock, Texas, Jaime Birdsong and husband, Dan, of Abilene, Texas, Danielle Davidson of Sherman, Texas, Landra Davidson of Abilene, John Allen Davidson of Abilene, and Season Davidson of Abilene; great-grandchildren, Ashlee, Kaleigh, Daniel, Abby, Julia, Karley, and Landon.
