Maria Rodriguez

Maria Elena Rodriguez, 69, passed on to be with our Lord, Sunday, February 20, 2011. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011, at Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North 2nd Street, Abilene. Burial will follow in City Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Maria Elena Rodriguez was born September 15, 1941 in Acuna, Mexico. She moved to Anson, TX in 1959 where she married her late husband Siprano Carmona Rodriguez. They lived in Munday, TX for 17 years. When they moved to Abilene in 1984, Maria was a homemaker and a member of The Assembly of God Church for 20 years.

Survivors include five sons, David Rodriguez, Siprano Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Mary, Joey Rodriguez, Mark Anthony Rodriguez and wife Carmen and Isaiah Rodriguez all of Abilene; three daughters, Maria Hernandez and husband Marcelo, Barbara Rodriguez, and Veronica Rodriguez also of Abilene; one brother, Simon; one sister, Lupe; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three daughters-in-law, Vicky Rodriguez, Julie Cortez, and Monica Rodriguez. Mrs. Rodriguez was preceded in death by her husband, Siprano C. Rodriguez.
