Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 Thursday July 8, at Elliot-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel 5701 Hwy. 277 S. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mary retired from The Abilene Independent School District in 1981 after 15 years of service, and was a very active volunteer for the West Texas Rehabilitation Center and Meals on Wheels.
She was preceded in death by her husband C.L. "Buster" Franklin in 1986, two sons: Eugene Franklin in 2004 and Jerry Franklin in 2006.
Survivors include two daughters-in-law, LaVerne Franklin of Humble, TX. and Lynn Franklin of Abilene. One sister, Vada West of Abilene. Three grandchildren, Carla Williams and husband Bobby, Sean Franklin and wife Krista and Chris Franklin. Three great-grandchildren, Karlie Williams, Blake Williams and GemmaLynne Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hospice of the Big Country 4601 Hartford Abilene, Texas 79605.
