Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 14th, 2013, at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, Texas with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
Mary Frances was born to Claude C. McMinn and Minnie Belle Vinson McMinn on May 28, 1925. She married Thomas Brian Summers on November 9th, 1945 in Abilene. They were married until his death in 1994. Frances loved people and was very active in all aspects of life. She was an accomplished bowler and a well-known beautician until her retirement.
Frances is survived by two daughters, Shirley Simpson and husband, Larry, of DeLeon, and Linda Summers of Abilene; one son, Mike Summers of Abilene; one sister, Hazel Harbert and husband, Joe, of Midland, Texas; seven grandsons; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and Nana and will be greatly missed by all.
