Mackey was born to the late Jesse and Minerva Owens in Ranger, Texas on August 8, 1926.
She moved to Abilene in 1988 and married Garland B. Dooley on September 17, 1988. Mackey liked being creative with needling. She loved a good challenge of a variety of puzzles, crosswords and word searches.
Mackey was preceded in death, by parents; husbands, Jack Williams and Garland B. Dooley; son, Dan Williams; siblings, Elmo Owens, Lou Alice Parker, Aila Bruce and Agatha Gailey; stepson, Bob Dooley; stepdaughters, Barbara Aswleybook, Brenda Evans and Betty McGirty.
She is survived by her grandsons, Lonnie Williams and his wife Jeannette and Chadwick Williams and his wife, Kelly; great grandchildren, Noah Williams, Joshua Williams, Ian Williams and Elvis Geuvara-Williams; Ace Gripp and Ivy Rose Marie. She is also survived by her step grandkids, Billy McClellan, Sheila Killough and Sherry Hoffer; 21 great-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
