

Nina Mae Haynes, age 94, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015. Funeral services will be 10:00a.m., Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory St. with Jeremy Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in Dewey Cemetery in Lawn, TX. Visitation will be this evening, Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 6:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at the funeral home.
Nina was born on October 24, 1920 in Oplin, TX to Thomas Henry and Mary Alice Tunnell. She was married to Grady Haynes on September 16, 1938. They were together for 75 years. They both were residing at the Oaks at Radford Hills for several years. Nina was a devoted wife and loving mother to her four children. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and family R.V.ing and fishing. Big family get-togethers were her favorite things and she was a wonderful cook. No one loved playing games and working crossword puzzles more than Nina. She had such a smart mind and a quick wit about her. Her Christadelphian faith was a big part of her life. She enjoyed the church fellowship and functions. Her faith got her through many hard times in life.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Haynes; two daughters, Doris Poindexter and Geneva Bromley; and her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Nancy Haynes. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Val Click; grandchildren, Tammy Hutchings, Johnny Ray Thomas, David Bromley, Cindy Barkschat, Paul Poindexter, and Stephanie Coffee; many great-grandchildren; and sons-in-law, Al Bromley and Tommy Poindexter.
The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers at the Oaks at Radford Hills and Hendrick Hospice. They were a great comfort to the family.
