

Patsy (Pat) Ruth Crow Gibbs was born on July 11, 1934, and entered the Gates of Heaven on April 24,2025. Born in Eula, Texas, Pat grew up on the family farm in Rowden, Texas. She graduated from Denton Valley High School where she played on the basketball team. She was proud that during her senior year, her team reached the finals of the first-ever Texas UIL State Championship Girls Tournament. Although Denton Valley was defeated by 2 points in the final, Pat scored 22 points in the effort to win the title.
Not long after graduating from high school, Pat married Dale Gibbs, and their union lasted 73 years until Dale’s death in February 2025. They settled in Abilene where they raised their two sons, Gary and Roger.
Pat was a people person and excelled in sales. After her boys reached school age, she began selling Tupperware. She was highly successful as a Tupperware Manager earning household furnishings, cars, vacations, and other perquisites. To many people throughout the Big Country, Pat was known as the “Tupperware Lady.” She continued to sell the product through the internet, until her recent bad health. She also sold Deborah’s Collection skin care products.
Pat was a person of deep and strong faith. She was a long-time member of Southwest Park Baptist Church where she directed the Youth Sunday School Department for many years. She and Dale also served as chaperones for multiple Youth Choir Tours and Mission Trips. In her later years, she joined Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
A sports fan her entire life, Pat participated in volleyball and bowling leagues. She enjoyed watching football and basketball on television, but she loved attending the sporting events where her grandchildren and great grandchildren were competing. She always had a Snickers bar with her, in case the games became too tense. She loved her family dearly and had very special relationships with many others.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Opal Crow, and her brothers Dalton Lehew and Frank Crow and sister Velda Stephens. She is survived by her sister Thelda Jefferies (San Antonio).
She is also survived by her sons Gary (Austin) and Roger and his wife, Deborah (Abilene); Grandchildren: Michelle Smith and husband, Mark, their children Makenna, Micah, and Mailey Kay (San Angelo); Ryan Gibbs and wife, Laura, their children Branson and Addisyn (Rockwall); Taylor Gibbs and wife, Megan, their children Leighton, Henley, and Worth (Abilene); Scott Copeland and wife, Ashley, their children Harper, Gracie, Haddie and Theo (Lakeway); Rick Copeland and wife, Amanda, their children Kaden and Kylie (Abilene); Michael Copeland and wife Dominique, their child Paxton (Frisco). Also, numerous nephews and nieces and extended family.
Visitation will be from 5:30 – 7:30 PM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 US Hwy 277 South in Abilene. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.
