

Ruth Rios, 67, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014 at a local hospital in Abilene. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2014 at Grape Street Church of Christ, 433 Grape St., Abilene. Eddie Rodriguez, Mike Bonner, and Sam Hanson will be officiating under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St. Burial will follow in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ruth was born on May 04, 1947 in Abilene to Luis R. Rios and Bernardina Rodriguez Rios. She was an excellent and gifted dress designer and seamstress. Her talent and pride in her work was evident in her part ownership of Rios Bridal and Formals for forty years. She was a member of the Church of Christ where she found the greatest joy in teaching bible classes to ladies and children. Ruth loved and served God and by all accounts was a good and faithful servant to him. Those left to cherish her memory will remember her as a great sister, a loving daughter and aunt, and she will be greatly missed.
Preceding her in death was her father, Luis R. Rios.
Survivors include her brothers; Louis X. Rios of Abilene, David Rios of Abilene, Adam Rios and his wife, Veronica of Euless, TX; sisters, Naomi R. Hansen and her husband, Sam of Abilene, Esther Prentice and her husband, Larry of Abilene, and Virginia White and her husband, Michael of Richmond, IN,Orpha Miriam Rios, and Damaris Molly Rios; her nephews, David Michael Rios, Damien White, Aaron White, Matthew White, Jeremy Elliott, Elijah Rios; a niece, Victoria Rios; six great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
