

Sharon Lynne Hunter, 57, of Abilene, departed this world on Angel’s wings leaving us to remember these things: her wonderful smile that welcomed all, her pure heart that shined, her loving thoughts and welcoming arms that brightened everyone’s life. Sharon was known to love movies, coloring, and movie star magazines. She had a special love for her dogs, Sonny & Cher, and most of all, Elvis Presley. Sharon will be missed by all who loved her.
Sharon was born August 24, 1955 in Abilene, Texas. Due to prolonged illness, she passed away on January 11, 2013 in Hendrick Medical Center at 5:14 a.m. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2013, at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, Abilene. Burial will follow in Potosi Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Sharon was preceded in death by grandparents, Birdie Mae and Wesley Lackey; her mother, Birdie Jean Hunter; and uncle, Jerry Don Lackey, Sr.
Survivors include Steffanie and James Lemmons, Glenda and James Newberry, Jerry Don and Cindy Lackey, Judy, Kenneth Hennesay, Barbara Seaman; numerous cousins; and Sharon’s special friends, Joan, Bill, and Scotty Spaunhorst.
