May the arms of the Lord embrace the larger-than-life character that was Stuart Lindley. Across the road, they called him Screwball; at home, he was called husband and dad; and to the rest of the world, he was called friend. If you were lucky enough to know him, you were taken under his protective wing, but you were also in the direct line of fire of his crass sarcasm and sharp wit.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and his legacy reached far beyond his bloodlines, touching the lives of many children who were not his own. Whether friend or family, you always knew you had shelter from the storm and a place at the table.
Firm in his wishes, he did not want a special ceremony after his passing. Instead, he requested that a simple toast be made in his memory by his remaining friends and family, honoring his ashes.
Rest in peace, Corporal Stuart Lindley, U.S. Army."
