Thomas Gilbert Davidson died February 23, 2017, surrounded by those closest to him at Hendrick Hospice after a prolonged illness. He met his wife Patricia “Pat” Davidson in 1971 and they were married January 12, 1974 in Bell Gardens, CA. Along with his wife Pat, he leaves his son, Michael Edward Arrendell; granddaughters, Kara Quiroz, MyKaela Arrendell, and Samara Todd; grandsons, Mychael Arrendell and Gabriel San Martin Todd; great-grandchildren Bryce, Gavyn, Karris, and Paisley; brothers, Donald and David Davidson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Bryant Arrendell; grandson, William Thomas Arrendell; mother and father, Earl & Marietta Davidson; sisters Mary Farley and Phyllis Coffee; and a brother, John Davidson.
Tommy was born on April 12, 1934 to Earl and Marietta Davidson in Raceland, KY. He drove a truck in southern California for 55 years where he received many safety driving awards. In his middle years he enjoyed spending time in the desert riding motorcycles with his sons.
He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 1980 and changed his life. Tom and Pat moved to Abilene in 1997 to be closer to family, where he spent his retirement years doing woodwork.
He will be missed by all that loved him. Tommy was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had a unique personality and was loved dearly by his family. Special thanks to Hendrick hospice staff for all the loving and compassionate care provided.
