Thomas L. Williams Jr.

T.L. "Bill" Williams, 94, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011, at a local medical center. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 3, 2011, in Dalhart Cemetery in Dalhart, Texas, with Pastor Mike Reed officiating. A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St.

Thomas L. Williams (Bill) was born November 21, 1916 to Thomas and Mary Williams in Anson, Texas.

Bill served his country in the United States Army from 1940 to 1945. He served with the 36th Division in North Africa and Italy where he was wounded. He returned to Stamford and worked for WTU and later transferred to Dalhart, Texas where he worked for XCEL Energy for 35 years.

He was married to Margetta Wyatt for 46 years before her death and later married Wilma Kline of Abilene. Bill was a longtime member of Lakeview Methodist Church in Dalhart and attended Calvary Baptist after moving to Abilene.

Bill was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by his wife, Wilma and her daughter Marianne Mullins and husband, Ron; son, John Kline and wife, Vicky; his grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
