Wanda Jean Lawless Johnson

Wanda Jean Johnson, 86, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at her residence in Abilene, TX. Funeral services will be 11:00a.m., Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the funeral home.

Wanda was born in Lawn, Texas on October 17, 1927 to E.C. Lawless and Jeanette Beechem Lawless. She moved to Abilene from Colorado City in 1942. Wanda graduated from Abilene High School and later married Volley Glen Johnson on February 22, 1946 in Abilene and had lived here in Abilene all of her life. She had worked for Montgomery Ward for 17 years before her retirement and had also sold Avon for over 50 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her brother, Wilbur Wayne Lawless.

Survivors include her sons, Don Johnson and wife, Karron, Keith Johnson, and Craig Johnson and wife, Jessica; her chosen daughter, Bebi Johnson; her brothers, Jerry Lawless and wife, Jackie of Granbury, Garry Lawless and wife, Judy, and Bob Lawless all of Abilene; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
