

William E. Haddix, "Bill", 74, of Colorado City, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, September 30, 2010 in Florida. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 4th at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory. Burial will follow in Potosi Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Bill was born August 13, 1936 in Pence, Kentucky to Bradley and Grace Haddix. He later moved to Oklahoma and then settled in Texas after serving in the Air Force from 1955 thru 1959.
Bill Haddix was a hardworking, dedicated, caring person. He had a jovial laid back attitude toward life. He loved the Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys. He worked for National Tank Company, Wes-Tex Drilling and also GCO Drilling as a truck driver until his retirement in 1995.
He is survived by his three children: William Odell Haddix and wife Suzanne of Clyde, Andra Jeanine Stanton and husband Jim of Clearwater, Florida and Johnny Ervin Haddix and wife Sherry of College Station.
He is also survived by one older sister, Opal Lee Wilson of Brandonburg, Kentucky. He has eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bradley Haddix Jr., two sisters, Ruby Jewell and Daisy Mae Haddix, a beloved grandson, William Bradley Haddix and a great-grandchild, Landon Parker Rains.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Johnathan Ollie Haddix, Steven Odell Haddix, and his son-in-law, James D. Stanton Jr.
