Peacefully at home, after a courageous battle with ALS,

Don passed away in his 67th year on Saturday, March 14, 2009.

Beloved husband of Doreen (née Gordon) for 46 wonderful years.

Loving dad of Cheri (Dave Jarvis), Shannon (Ron Stubbington), Shelley (Todd Goring) and Christopher (Tristan).

Proud grandpa/poppa of Alexandra, Matthew, Daniel,

Jacob, Reece, Karyssa, Gage, Mitchell, Gabriel, Grace, Rowan, Riley and Elisha.

Will be missed by brother Jim (Marianne), sisters Marg (Pete) and Mary Jane (Terry), brother-in-law Allan (Nicoleta) and their families.

Dear son-in-law of Ross and Ruby Gordon of Guelph.

He will be reunited with his parents “Dude” and Louise, and grandson Gabriel.

One of his greatest loves was singing, which he was able to realize and share through his fellowship with the Royal City Ambassadors Barbershop Chorus.

As were Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

The family will receive friends at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill Street East, Acton, on Wednesday, March 18, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

A celebration of his life will be conducted by the Rev. Canon J. Mark Tiller at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 365 Queen Street East, Acton, (across from Home Hardware) on Thursday, March 19th at one o’clock.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Society, Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Facing this personal challenge, his spirit stayed strong and he kept singing to the end.
