John Spehar

Loved husband of 58 years of Tonica and dearly loved father of Matt (Carm). Loved grandfather of John, Maria and Matthew. Predeceased by his son Bill, his sister Marica and brother Mate.

John was born in Croatia, October 21, 1924. He came to Canada in 1957, settled in Acton and worked at the Beardmore Tannery until his retirement in 1986.

John stayed active on his hobby farm in Limehouse until this year.

He will be greatly missed by all of his family and his many friends. A special thank you to Brenda Norris from C.C.A.C., Eliza from Paramed Home Healthcare and the special nurses of Palliative Care including: Carie, Armila and Josie from Saint Elizabeth Health Care.

The family will receive friends at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill Street East, Acton on Sunday, October 31st , from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., with Parish Prayers at 3.45 p.m.

Friends are invited to join the family at St. Joseph, Patron of Canada Roman Catholic Church, 64 Church Street East, Acton, on Monday, November 1st, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. when the Funeral Mass will be concelebrated by

The Rev. Robert Bulbrook and The Rev. Marco Puljic.

The interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery (Acton).

Remembrances to The Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
