

Passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, January 4, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. Harold was born in Acton, Ontario, on the 4th of July, 1931, and, after many years in Toronto, upon his retirement returned to his home-town, where he was an active member of St. Alban’s Anglican Church. For many years he was a member of the RCAF, serving as a Flight Lieutenant and Navigator. Harold had a long subsequent career with Immigration Canada. A member of the Legion, the Air Force remained his consuming interest, as well as local Ontario History. Harold was the beloved husband for 48 years of Carol and the loving father of Leslie (Ian) Peach of Ottawa and devoted grandfather of Fiona. He was the dear brother of Wannetta (Richard Daus) Stiles of Acton.
The family will receive friends at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home “Shoemaker Chapel”, 55 Mill Street East, Acton, on Tuesday, January 8th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 197 tribute will take place at seven o’clock.
Friends are invited to meet the family at St. Alban-the-Martyr Anglican Church, 19 St. Alban’s Drive, Acton on Wednesday, January 9th at eleven o’clock.
