He was born on August 28, 1938 in Indianapolis, IN and moved to Akron as a child, living in Firestone Park. What a homecoming he’ll have reuniting with his parents Kenneth and Griselda (Ward), younger brother Hugh, best friend Jim Dortch and other relatives.
Autry was lovingly cared for, for many years by his wife, Carol (Miller). She morns the loss of the love of her life and best friend. They shared a wonderful life for 32+ years. He is also survived by his son Keith (Noreen), daughter Kendra, step-son Ryan Hickman (Kerry) who loved Autry like a father, Hugh’s widow Rebecca and dear friend Darlene Dortch. Papa/Grandpa leaves behind many grandchildren, a great-grandchild, cousins and special friends.
Autry was a true Southern Gentleman and devout Christian. He spent hours studying The Word and he loved being a part of the family of Grace Bible Church in Stow, OH. His passion was sailing Lake Erie for many years (but he refused to fly…). He retired as the real estate broker/owner of Autry S. Lewis Realty.
We are grateful for Crossroads Hospice for their excellent care in Autry’s final days.
