David A. Culver, age 92, of New Franklin, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025. Born in Kenmore on May 26, 1932, he was the fourth of five children of Charles Ridgeway Culver I and Sadie Edna (Herwick) Culver.
In 1955, David entered the United States Air Force for two years and then returned home to get his Bachelor's degree from Kent State University in Musical Performance. He then met and married Delores K. Semester in 1958. She preceeds him in death from this life.Later, in 1972, he completed his Master's degree in Education at The University of Akron.
David was a banker, a postman, and became an educator in the Springfield School District teaching Language Arts, English, and Literature. He was a member of MENSA and was often teased by his colleagues who called him "the smartest man alive!"
Ancestry was his hobby and was proficient in his research.
David is survived by his daughter Lisa (Greg) Holl who lived with him. A faithful Christian, David was an amazing husband and father. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call Friday 10:30AM to 11:30AM at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 3653 W. Market St. in Akron. Pastor Marshall Mason will begin the funeral service at 11:30AM. Interment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
