Born on March 23, 1935, in Montgomery, Alabama, Ethel was known for being kind yet straight to the point and lived a life full of compassion and dedication to her family and faith.
A resident of Akron, Ohio, Ethel was a good Christian who devoted her life to raising her grandchildren, stepping up to be a mother, father, and grandma to them. Her unwavering love and guidance left a lasting legacy for her family to cherish.
Ethel was predeceased by her father, Johnnie Bibb; her mother, Annie Harrison; and her son, Mike Russell.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Thomas, and her grandchildren, Reshunda Walker (Terry), Dashawn Russell, Jashawn Russell, and Brandon Lewis. Additionally, she leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Tashay, Tristan, Briahna, Danae, Dashawn Jr., Anthony, Taleah, Midajah, Zuriah, Jakayla, Jashawn Jr., and Janae. She also leaves behind ten great-great-grandchildren, siblings, family, and friends.
Ethel Mae Tyler will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Funeral Home & Burial Park, located at 3653 W Market St, Akron. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her and her legacy will continue to inspire those she left behind.
