George C Paul Jr.

George C. Paul, age 86, a lifelong Akron resident, passed away April 15, 2011. Born on October 8, 1924, George was a proud WWII veteran and served in the 408th Airborne division of the United States Army. After serving and re-enlisting, he was employed and retired from General Motors in Elyria.

George loved watching his family participate in sports, and watching WWE. He was much loved for his kindness and jovial laugh; he will be missed by his loving family and dear friends.

George was preceded in death by his father George Sr. and his mother Jeannie, as well as his sisters Evelyn Goodyear and Ida Eggers Beeson.

He leaves behind his nephew Robert (Nancy) Eggers, great nieces; Julie Eggers, and Karen (Dave) McMillan, and great nephew Robert (Tiffany) Eggers. George will especially be missed by his great great nieces and nephews; Cody, Connor, Emma, Clay, Evelyn, Madison, Ellayson and Elannah.

A private funeral service was held at Rose Hill Burial Park where George was buried with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in George’s name to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087.
